#182 Download page has CentOS Linux as default; it should prioritize CentOS Stream
Closed a month ago by arrfab. Opened 2 years ago by garrett.

As CentOS Linux 8 has been EOL and the focus has switched to CentOS Stream, the download page should default to CentOS Stream.

This can be done in two steps:

  1. Change the default (and probably order as well, so CentOS Stream is on the left and selected).
  2. Eventually redesign and adjust the page to further prioritize CentOS Stream and treat CentOS Linux as deprecated.

Step 1 can probably be addressed immediately. Step 2 may take some more time.

An update was pushed to https://www.stg.centos.org/ to illustrate the prioritization of CentOS Stream distribution on the download page. Note that CentOS Stream was also prioritized in the home page because both download and home pages take the distribution information from the same data structure (_data/centos/distribution.yml) file.

About the "CentOS Linux deprecated" message presentation, do you have any idea on how to put it?

having a look at very old ticket but closing as clearly nothing is mentioning centos linux anymore (only centos stream releases now)
